If there’s one thing that’s been drilled into my head this summer its "Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate". Everyone has their favorite ways to keep the H20 flowing. If you see me in day to day life, odds are I have a water bottle with me. If I’m running, I’ve got a handheld with me. Most recently, I’ve started wearing the Hydrapak Avila while hiking.
I’ve owned every hydration belt under the sun,but I’ve always shied away from hydration packs thinking they’d be too heavy and awkward. Now I’m wishing I tried one sooner. The Avila holds 70 oz of fluid and is super comfortable to wear. I love that it has a pocket to toss my cell phone and snacks in.
We took it out recently, while on a hunt for dino tracks, and it kept my water nice and cool and my hands free. After I got used to the idea of it, I took it for a few runs, once adjusted I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t bounce around. I even eventually came to like the sound of the rhythmic sloshing of water.
The only downside I’ve found, is that Dash loves drinking out of it so much, I’m getting a backache from bending over to accommodate him. For the record, its small enough that he can wear it. Guess its time to get one for him.

hmm, let's see… in terms of summer runs I honestly have been really bad about hydrating :/ I never carry water and have been noticing I get the dry “dehydrated runner mouth” (ew) at around mile 6… definitely need to change my bad habits for the better!
I carry a camelback, but am always on the lookout for a replacement. In addition, I'd like one that has a larger capacity than the one I carry now. Today on my run with the boys I was the only one with water, and it disappeared rather quickly!
I'd go with the Reyes, because it is the smallest that carries the 100 oz.

I've been changing up my hydration strategy every week because I can't quite figure out what I like. I think I'm leaning towards pack right now.
I like the Avila or the Reyes or the daily deal- messenger bag. I wouldn't run with the messenger bag but it's an interesting design.

I like the avila the best! So small, but holds lots of water!
the avila and soquel both look great to me. the reyes even holds 100oz, that would be amazing!! I would love to have a hydration pack as I'm a sweaty beast and need 36 oz an hour to keep adequate hydration for long training sessions, not easy to carry in a belt or handheld!
Now following Hydrapak on Twitter!
I carry a handheld on my long runs, but I really need something different once I get over about 10 miles…the hand held gets so annoying to hold. I actually looked for belts yesterday, but didn't remotely like any of them. This pack would be awesome!
I have a camelback I use from time to time on longer runs. I certainly like that much better than the hydration belts I wear.
No need to enter me in the contest as I already have a suitable hydration pack. Better that someone who needs one wins!

I carry my nalegen water bottle if I was to run in the heat for a long period of time.
I like the pack you have. It carries a lot of water but is still light enough to run with. For my summer runs I have one waist belt that holds two of the small bottles and one that holds four of the bottles. During longer runs I have to stop at a gas station to get my water to fill my bottles.

I waffle between a handheld poweraid bottle, and a fuel belt. Haven't found the perfect solution yet.
i'd like to try the soft flask for carrying while running.

Checked out the Hydrapak website again, and I'm most interested in the Reyes because of the larger bladder.
I've been refilling water bottles all summer, but pulling down my backpack on hikes to switch out one bottle for another is waaaay less convenient than just sipping from a straw all hike long!
I stay hydrated by using my Camelbak. It is very similar to the Hydrapak, but it is getting old and worn. Lots of water is what I drink. I liked Hydrapak on FB and Twitter and I also like you on FB.
I stay hydrated by owning (and using!) an obscene number of waterbottles. One for my bedside, one for the car, one on my desk at work, one in my gym bag, one on my desk at home, one by the couch – I have a problem!
I went to the site & I'd pick the Avalia – looks perfect for a long run!
I would love the E-Lite Vest! But, if it doesn't have to be a vest, I'd love to try out a GelBot!

I would definitely pick the Avila, it looks like the one that would fit my needs the best!
Right now I stay hydrated with my CamelBak on long runs, but on hot days, it just wears me down- too hot and it's their smallest model that I have (I think) which is why I like the idea of the E-Lite Vest!
In shorter runs, I run with a bottle in a hand strap.

For running or even cycling, I'd like the Avila, has enough storage without being too big. For pure hiking, I'd jump up a notch or 2, maybe the Soquel or Selva.
Running in the heat is NOT an easy thing for me. I overheat and more often than not have to go to a gym and use the treadmills. When I do run outside, I stay close to home to get water as I can't seem to carry enough with me.

I LOVE the e-lite vest and the avilla! It has the perfect amount of water for my long runs! My biceps no longer fatigue like they did with the handhelds
I like the Avila! I don't need a big pack, I just need some good water!
I have a Nathan hydration belt, but for anything over 13 miles it doesn't carry enough water for me. I really need a new water pac!!
I like the Soquel.

this summer I have stayed hydrated by finally giving in and buying a handheld water bottle…i love it way more than I thought I would. I also carry water bottles with me EVERY WHERE!!!
Out of the few I've tested, the best “pak” is the Nathan HPL #20 which comes with a Hydrapak bladder.
The HPL is very comfortable (more of a hug than a weight on your shoulders). And the Hydrapak bladder is easy to clean since it's reversible.
I've also had to deal with Hydrapak for a warranty claim and they were super easy to deal with and quick to ship me out a replacement. Love Hydrapak (and Nathan)!
The E-Lite vest looks intriguing! I'm sick of getting chafed from my water belt!

On the Hydrapak website, I really like the Reyes. It's about the size of pak that I am looking for.

On my outdoor training runs, I have a great pair of Adidas capris, that have pouch-like pockets on the sides of the hips. A 12oz bottle fits perfect in there and there are drinking fountains on my route that I sometimes use to fill it up.

I would have to say the Avila is the one that looks most intriguing to me. It looks light weight, and easy to use on long runs or walks.
I “like” Endurance isn't only Physical on Facebook.
I stay hydrated while running by using a fuel belt with a few small water bottles on it. I have one with two water bottles, and one with four for depending on how long of a run I'm going on, or how hot it is out. It also has a little pouch for my ID, key, inhaler and sport beans. Phew! That's a lot of stuff I carry on me while running!
I like the Avila – it looks like a great size and holds a lot of water!

The e lite pack interests me the most, because I don't drink enough water on runs to make the other ones necessary. I've always wanted to try one though, training for my marathon, I'm starting to need more water than my belt carries.
Honestly, I'm afraid I don't stay hydrated enough. Any run under 13 miles, I don't even carry water. Now that I'm training with runs longer than that, I'm using my hydration belt.

I've just started running and am training for my first half to run on Thanksgiving morning! I have a hand-held water bottle for now since my mileage is still pretty low.
